Minnesota Adult Basic Education Policies
The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) Adult Basic Education (ABE) Office develops regulatory policies to ensure consistency among ABE programs statewide. ABE policies are established to provide a deliberate plan of action to guide statewide and local ABE program decisions.
In particular, the ABE Student Progress Policy should be reviewed by Minnesota ABE programs. This policy defines action steps for ABE students who do not demonstrate National Reporting System (NRS) Educational Functioning Level (EFL) progress as defined by the state and federal accountability system.
To view ABE policies, please visit the ABE Law, Policy and Guidance Section of the Minnesota ABE website.
For a complete list of Minnesota Statutes pertaining to Adult Basic Education please visit the Minnesota Statutes, Session Laws and Rules web site, click on "Search by Keyword or Phrases" and then type "Adult Basic Education" in the "text" line following "contains the phrase."
